Mohammed Chiba lives and works in Bilbao, Spain. Working primarily as an image maker, Chiba engages across drawing, painting, photography, and video, allowing each medium to intersect and unfold organically. His process embraces flow, unburdened by premeditation, evolving in real time with moments that are immediate, fresh, and untainted by past or future.

 

Drawing serves as both intervention and inquiry, creating spontaneous gestures that embody the poetics of everyday life. Chiba’s practice investigates the conditions of art-making itself, questioning the consciousness, the mind of an artist.

Central to his work is a practice of collecting. Found objects and images become more than just materials, their discovery informs and mirrors the intuitive nature of his drawing and image-making.
